Dhigurah

Dhigurah Island Thundi

Dhigurah is located in South Ari Atoll (also known as Alif Dhaalu Atoll). The direct translation of the name is ‘long island’. The length of the island is almost 4 km, the width is 300 m. It is one of the longest islands in the Maldives. You can literally walk to LUX Maldives resort because one side of the island extends to a sandbank which connects to the resort. Manta Rays and Whale Sharks can be seen year round nearby the island. There’s a bikini beach, several guesthouse, cafes, souvenir shops along the main street.

It’s an ideal destination for scuba divers with multiple dive sites accessible from a short boat ride. It is great for honeymoon couples as the long beach is perfect for romantic walks during sunset.

You can reach the island from a 2 hour speed boat ride or a 20 minute domestic flight.
